The Half-Life of Trust

The cost of war is not measured in dollars, but in secrets.

In 1943, the citizens of Hanford were evicted for a military project so vital, secrecy became law.

Two determined locals refuse to let their home be swallowed by silence. When they uncover the terrifying true stakes of the project, their mission changes: they must prevent further destruction—at any cost.

“Despite the powerlessness you feel when entering into a war, you are forced to react. I had to bind myself to a decision. With that decision, I risked change—submitting over and over, decaying into somebody else—acting in ways I never thought possible.

Either way, I swear I was only reacting—  I never intended to play God.”

-Daisy, The Half-Life of Trust

“I had believed no amount of sabotage to be too small, against all logic; one act of defiance could spur on another—a small act sparking fission for a revolution toward a better future.

But fission only works toward chaos. A small amount of fuel in the wrong hands could wipe out the planet. Small actions seemed either inconsequential or astronomical. I didn’t have the critical mass to make any sort of change—apart from changing myself.”

-Collin, The Half-Life of Trust
